Photos of my parents as small children:-
Above left is a photo of my father taken C1914. In those days boys wore lace and had their hair long making them look a bit like a girl! Dad being the first born was the apple of his parents eye. The group photo is from L - R.. Mona, Walter and my mother, Hilda Roehr C1920

Photo shows the cousins at a family re-unin in C1960 at the home of Len & Gladys Garton in Beulah Park. Everyone was there including the Maugers who came from Sydney and the Bendals. The only one I can recall with everyone there and a couple of years after Grandma Hunters death (1959)

The photo above left was taken in 1966 on mother's 50th birthday. She was always a person who dressed well and looks most attractive in this picture. The photo on right was taken in her late teens in the 1930's at Murray Bridge; probably about the time that she met Hugh Hunter.
Photos of dad:-
This photo shows dad sitting at the kitchen table with the TAB form guide and his tea and cake! On Saturday arfternoon he and mum would spend the afternoon talking about the horses and if one took her fancy he would go down the street to The Parade and the TAB agency to put on a bet! They used to enjoy this and dad would drink lots of tea and eat slices of buttered sultana cake - such decadence! He often drank it out of a saucer when it was hot and when it was cold might even just upend the pot and drink from the spout...but we still loved him!
Below is another photo of him sitting by the Murray with Uncle walter's galah which went on their fishing trips! This was probably taken at Lock 2 where they went. They would camp by the lock as they received permission from the Lock master to fish and spend the time there. I visited with Jason on one of their tripsand have photos of Jason & I watching the large tourist river boats passing through the lock. Jason lost his rod when a large fish (probably a carp) grabbed the hook and sped off down the river!

This photo taken in front of my house in Sheidow Park shows Hilda on the left with Elsie Howes (ex sister in-law Kathleen's mother) and sitting on the step Fred Howes with my dad Hugh Hunter on the right.

On April 12th, 2005 a boy was born to Emma - David, my namesake.
