Welcome to the family descendant chart! I hope you will find the information of interest. The chart has been more fully researched now and is now published on this site with basic data as at October, 2007. While every effort has been made to ensure accuracy there may be errors. Please forward any corrections to my e-mail address.
All the information on the Roehr family is now published together with the descendants of the children from the first marriage of Johanna Louise Hampel in "The Hampel-Roehr Family history". This book was launched at Tanunda on 21st October, 2007. It was a most successful celebration. The cost is $120 and certainly recommended to all descendants as a great family story. To order a book contact me at dhunter2@bigpond.net.au or download an order form on my homepage (link below)

On Saturday 20th October a plaque was unveiled to mark the gravesite of Carl Wilhelm Roehr and his wife. On this is recorded some of their story.

Memorial on grave of Carl & Louise Roehr

The Roehr & Hampel families arrived in Australia on the same ship and information about the journey and the passengers on board are detailed in the web page link below.

I have also compiled a page showing scenes from Prussia and the towns/places from which my german ancestors came. This will be added to as new images become available. To open this new page Click here..

Johanne Louise & Johan Adolph Roehr

Photo is of Johann Adolph ROEHR and his wife Johanna Louise STAEHR

He is the eldest son of Carl Wilhelm Roehr. (There was no photo of Carl or Dorothea available at the time of preparation of this page - in fact we do not believe there is any photo of Carl and his wife or of their other son Carl Albert Roehr in existance.)
Carl finally settled on property between Neukirk and Ebenezer where he built a family home for his surviving child and those surviving children of the widow Hampel who he married and with whom he had a further 2 children. It was also here where his eldest son Johann Adolph raised his family of 15. A photo of the house as it is now (2005) will open in a new window if you click this link.Click here
